Processional Hymn - 949
Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
His the scepter, His the throne;
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone!
Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood:
“Jesus out of every nation
Has redeemed us by His blood.”
Alleluia! Not as orphans
Are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us;
Faith believes, nor questions how.
Though the cloud from sight received Him,
When the forty days were o’er,
Shall our hearts forget His promise?—
“I am with you evermore.”
Alleluia! Bread of angels,
Here on earth our Food, our Stay;
Alleluia! Here the sinful
Flee to You from day to day.
Intercessor, friend of sinners,
Earth’s Redeemer, plead for me;
Where are the songs of all the sinless
Sweep across the crystal sea.
Alleluia! King eternal,
You are the Lord of lords we own;
Alleluia! Born of Mary,
Earth Your footstool, Heav’n Your throne.
You within the veil have entered,
Robed in flesh, our great high priest;
Here on earth both priest and victim
In the Eucharistic feast!
Greeting:
Priest: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,
We glorify you,
We give you thanks for your great glory.
Lord God, heavenly king,
O God, Almighty Father.
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to people of good will.
Lord, Jesus Christ,
Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
You take away the sins of the world,
Receive our prayer;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to people of good will.
For you alone are the Holy One,
You alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father,
Amen, amen.
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to people of good will.
Collect
This prayer concludes the opening rites of mass.

First Reading -
Acts 8:5-8, 14-17
Philip went down to the city of Samaria
and proclaimed the Christ to them.
With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip
when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing.
For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice,
came out of many possessed people,
and many paralyzed or crippled people were cured.
There was great joy in that city.
Now when the apostles in Jerusalem
heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God,
they sent them Peter and John,
who went down and prayed for them,
that they might receive the Holy Spirit,
for it had not yet fallen upon any of them;
they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Then they laid hands on them
and they received the Holy Spirit.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm - Psalm 66
R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
Cry out with joy to God, all the earth;
O sing to the glory of his name.
O render him glorious praise.
Say to God, “How awesome your deeds!”
R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
"Before you all the earth shall bow down,
shall sing to you, sing to your name.”
Come and see the works of God:
awesome his deeds among the
children of men.
R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
He turned the sea into dry land;
they passed through the river on foot;
Let our joy, then, be in him;
he rules forever by his might.
R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
Come and hear, all who fear God;
I will tell what he did for my soul.
Blest be God, who did not reject my prayer,
nor withhold from he his merciful love.
R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
Second Reading -
1 Peter 3:15-18
Beloved:
Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts.
Always be ready to give an explanation
to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear,
so that, when you are maligned,
those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame.
For it is better to suffer for doing good,
if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.
For Christ also suffered for sins once,
the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God.
Put to death in the flesh,
he was brought to life in the Spirit.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: Thanks be to God.
(please stand)
Gospel Acclamation
R: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Cantor: Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed;
let us then feast with joy in the Lord.
R: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Gospel - John 14:15-21
Priest or Deacon: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
Priest/Deacon: A reading from the Gospel according to John.
ALL: Glory to you, O Lord (while make a small sign of the Cross on the forehead, lips, and chest).
Jesus said to his disciples:
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept,
because it neither sees nor knows him.
But you know him, because he remains with you, and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live.
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.
Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him."
The Gospel of the Lord.
ALL: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

You have charged us through your Son, Jesus, with the great mission of evangelizing and witnessing your love to the world.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide us as we discern your will for the spiritual renewal of our parish.
Give us strength, courage, and clear vision as we use our gifts to serve you.
We entrust our parish family to the care of Mary, our mother, and ask for her intercession and guidance, as we strive to build a parish that loves God, embraces all people, and shares the Gospel joyfully.

Offertory Hymn - 696 - Ubi Caritas
Ubi caritas est vera, est vera
Deus ibi est
Deus ibi est
The love of Christ joins us together
Let us rejoice in him
And in our love and care for all
Now love God in return
Ubi caritas est vera, est vera
Deus ibi est
Deus ibi est
In true communion let us gather
May all division cease
And in their place be Christ the Lord
Our risen Prince of Peace
Ubi caritas est vera, est vera
Deus ibi est
Deus ibi est
May we who gather at this table
To share the bread of life
Become a sacrament of love
Your healing touch, O Christ
Ubi caritas est vera, est vera
Deus ibi est
Deus ibi est
For those in need make us your mercy
For those oppressed, your might
Make us, your Church, a holy sign
Of justice and new life
Ubi caritas est vera, est vera
Deus ibi est
Deus ibi est
May we one day behold your glory
And see you face to face
Rejoicing with the saints of God
To sing eternal praise
Ubi caritas est vera, est vera
Deus ibi est
Deus ibi est

Sent to you from God Most High.
Take and eat, and you will live;
You need never fear to die.
2. Jesus says: I am the Vine,
Far from whom no life can grow.
If you join yourself to me,
A rich harvest you will know.
3. Jesus says: I am the Way,
And my path is straight and true.
Follow me to where I lead;
There my Father waits for you.
4. Jesus says: I am the Truth.
If you follow close to me,
You will know me in your heart,
And my word will make you free.
5. Jesus says: I am the Life,
Raised in triumph from the dead.
As one Body now remain,
Members joined to me, the Head.
6. Jesus says: I am the Day,
Shining brightly through your night. Welcome me, and you will walk
By the Spirit’s guiding light.
7. Jesus says: I am the Love
Which can bind you close to me.
Those who know this gift I bring
Will find true community.
8. Jesus says: I am the Peace
Which the world cannot bestow.
Learn to love and live in me,
And in you my Reign will grow.
9. Jesus says: I am the Lamb,
And my death set sinners free.
Those who drink the cup I drink
Must take up this work with me.
Communion Hymn 2 (if needed) -Mother Mary, Pray for Us
Mother Mary, full of mercy,
hear your people, gentle one.
Help of Christians, friend of sinners,
How we need your prayer for us:
we, the children born of Eden,
prone to wander from your son.
Mother Mary, in your mercy,
pray for us.
Dearest Mary, heart of suff’ring,
love that wept beneath the cross,
see our wounds in need of tending.
Comfort of afflicted ones,
sweetest help of all in sorrow,
lift us to the heart of God.
Mother Mary, in your kindness,
pray for us.
Holy Mary, seat of wisdom,
give us vision to believe.
Cause of joy and of salvation,
lead the nations into peace.
Star of morning, interceding,
with a mother’s patient love,
Holy Mary, in your wisdom,
pray for us.
Recessional Hymn - 539 - Sing with All the Saints in Glory
Sing with all the saints in glory,
Sing the resurrection song!
Death and sorrow, earth's dark story,
To the former days belong.
All around the clouds are breaking,
Soon the storms of time shall cease;
In God's likeness we awaken,
Knowing everlasting peace.
O what glory, far exceeding
All that eye has yet perceived!
Holiest hearts, for ages pleading,
Never that full joy conceived.
God has promised, Christ prepares it,
There on high our welcome waits.
Ev’ry humble spirit shares it;
Christ has passed th'eternal gates.
Life eternal! heav’n rejoices;
Jesus lives, who once was dead.
Shout with joy, O deathless voices;
Child of God, lift up your head!
Patriarchs from the distant ages,
Saints all longing for their heav’n,
Prophets, psalmists, seers, and sages,
All await the glory giv’n.
Life eternal! O what wonders
Crowd on faith; what joy unknown,
When, amid earth's closing thunders,
Saints shall stand before the throne!
Oh, to enter that bright portal,
See that glowing firmament;
Know, with you, O God Immortal,
Jesus Christ whom you have sent!
