Processional Hymn - Table of Plenty

Come to the feast of heaven and earth!
Come to the table of plenty!
God will provide for all that we need,
here at the table of plenty.

1. O come and sit at my table
where saints and sinners are friends.
I wait to welcome the lost and lonely
to share the cup of my love.

2. O come and eat without money;
come to drink without price.
My feast of gladness will feed your spirit
with faith and fullness of life.

3. My bread will ever sustain you
through days of sorrow and woe.
My wine will flow like a sea of gladness
to flood the depths of your soul.

4. Your fields will flower in fullness;
your homes will flourish in peace.
For I, the giver of home and harvest,
will send my rain on the soil.

Liturgy of the Word

First Reading - Genesis 14:18-20

In those days, Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine,
and being a priest of God Most High,
he blessed Abram with these words: "Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
the creator of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who delivered your foes into your hand."
Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

The Word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm - Psalm 8

R (4b)  You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

The LORD said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand
till I make your enemies your footstool."
R You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

The scepter of your power the LORD will stretch forth from Zion:
"Rule in the midst of your enemies."
R You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

"Yours is princely power in the day of your birth, in holy splendor;
before the daystar, like the dew, I have begotten you."
R You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD has sworn, and he will not repent:
"You are a priest forever, according to the order of  Melchizedek."
R You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

Second Reading - Romans 5:1-5

1 Cor. 11:23-26

Brothers and sisters:
I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over,
took bread, and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying,
"This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.

The Word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God.

Gospel Acclamation

R: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Gospel - Luke 9:11b-17

Priest or Deacon: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.

Priest/Deacon: A reading from the Gospel according to Luke.
ALL: Glory to you, O Lord (while making a small sign of the Cross on the forehead, lips, and chest).

Jesus spoke to the crowds about the kingdom of God, and he healed those who needed to be cured.
As the day was drawing to a close,
the Twelve approached him and said,
"Dismiss the crowd so that they can go to the surrounding villages and farms
and find lodging and provisions; for we are in a deserted place here."
He said to them, "Give them some food yourselves."
They replied, "Five loaves and two fish are all we have, unless we ourselves go and buy food for all these people."
Now the men there numbered about five thousand.
Then he said to his disciples,
"Have them sit down in groups of about fifty."
They did so and made them all sit down.
Then taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven,
he said the blessing over them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
They all ate and were satisfied.
And when the leftover fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets.

The Gospel of the Lord.

ALL: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Homily (please sit)

Nicene Creed (please stand)

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

General Intercessions:

After each prayer, respond: Lord, hear our prayer.

Prayer for Our Lady of Angels Parish

Heavenly Father, we thank you for gathering us together and calling us to serve as your disciples.
You have charged us through your Son, Jesus, with the great mission of evangelizing and witnessing your love to the world.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide us as we discern your will for the spiritual renewal of our parish.
Give us strength, courage, and clear vision as we use our gifts to serve you.
We entrust our parish family to the care of Mary, our mother, and ask for her intercession and guidance, as we strive to build a parish that loves God, embraces all people, and shares the Gospel joyfully.

Liturgy of the Eucharist

Offertory Song - Miracle of Grace

Miracle of grace mystery of faith
Calling us to venture to the deep
Though our senses fail Your graces still prevail
And we become the love that we receive

Bread of Life Bread of Life
Those who eat this bread shall live and never die
Bread of Life Bread of Life
Your true presence in this holy sacrifice
Bread of Life
(Bread of Life)
(Bread of Life)

Unworthy though we are You feed the hungry heart
With bread come down from heaven above
And like a grain of wheat we fall down at Your feet
Dying here with You oh let us rise

Your faithfulness revealed
In this covenant You've sealed
With your very body and Your blood
Come claim Your bride again
With love that cannot end
For what God joins no one can divide

Communion Song - This is Jesus

This is Jesus,
Emmanuel. God is with us,in this sacrament.
Come, receive Him. Adore Him.
This is Jesus, our Lord.

  1. Bright Star of David,
    Radiance of God;
now become the Living Bread, the body of the Lord.
    Come in adoration,
    receive with trembling hands;
    the sacrament most holy,
    the banquet of the Lamb.

  2. Drink of living waters,
    flowing from the Lord.
    Taste the cup of blessing,
    partake of precious blood.
    River of Salvation,
    holy cleansing tide;
    Fountain of Redemption,
    flowing from the Savior's side.

  3. Priest of highest honor,
    King and Sovereign Lord,
    unblemished Lamb of Sacrifice,
    Your very life outpoured;
    Royal paschal victim,
true begotten Son, offered as our ransom by the Holy One.

Communion Song 2 - Remembrance (The Communion Song)

Oh how could it be
That my God would welcome me
Into this mystery
Say take this bread take this wine
Now the simple made divine
For any to receive

By Your mercy we come to Your table
By Your grace You are making us faithful

Lord we remember You
And remembrance leads us to worship
And as we worship You
Our worship leads to communion
We respond to Your invitation
(We respond to Your invitation)
We remember You

See His body His blood
Know that He has overcome
Ev'ry trial we will face
And none too lost to be saved
None too broken or ashamed
All are welcome in this place

(Bridge)
Dying You destroyed our death
Rising You restored our life
Lord Jesus come in glory
Lord Jesus come in glory
Lord Jesus come in glory
Lord Jesus come in glory
