Processional Hymn - This is the Day
This is the day, this is the day
that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made;
We will rejoice, we will rejoice
and be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
that the Lord has made.
These are my friends,
these are my friends
that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made;
We will rejoice, we will rejoice
and be glad in it, and be glad in it.
These are my friends that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
These are my friends,
these are my friends
that the Lord has made.

We glorify you,
We give you thanks for your great glory.
Lord God, heavenly king,
O God, Almighty Father.

Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
You take away the sins of the world,
Receive our prayer;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
Gloria in excelsis Deo! Gloria in excelsis Deo!
For you alone are the Holy One,
You alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading - 2 Cor. 4:7-15
Brothers and sisters:
We hold this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.
We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not abandoned;
struck down, but not destroyed;
always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.
For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus,
so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
So death is at work in us, but life in you.
Since, then, we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke, we too believe and therefore speak,
knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus
and place us with you in his presence.
Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm -Psalm 15
R. Those who sow in tears shall reap rejoicing.
When the LORD brought back the captives of Zion,
we were like men dreaming.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with rejoicing.
R. Those who sow in tears shall reap rejoicing.
Then they said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad indeed.
R. Those who sow in tears shall reap rejoicing.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like the torrents in the southern desert.
Those that sow in tears
shall reap rejoicing.
R. Those who sow in tears shall reap rejoicing.
Although they go forth weeping,
carrying the seed to be sown,
They shall come back rejoicing,
carrying their sheaves.
R. Those who sow in tears shall reap rejoicing.

Gospel -
Matthew 20:20-28
Priest or Deacon: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
Priest/Deacon: A reading from the Gospel according to Matthew.
ALL: Glory to you, O Lord (while make a small sign of the Cross on the forehead, lips, and chest).
The mother of the sons of Zebedee approached Jesus with her sons
and did him homage, wishing to ask him for something.
He said to her,
"What do you wish?"
She answered him,
"Command that these two sons of mine sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your Kingdom."
Jesus said in reply,
"You do not know what you are asking.
Can you drink the chalice that I am going to drink?"
They said to him, "We can."
He replied,
"My chalice you will indeed drink,
but to sit at my right and at my left, this is not mine to give but is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father."
When the ten heard this, they became indignant at the two brothers.
But Jesus summoned them and said,
"You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and the great ones make their authority over them felt.
But it shall not be so among you.
Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant;
whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave.
Just so, the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."
The Gospel of the Lord.
ALL: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Homily (please sit)
Nicene Creed (please stand)
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
General Intercessions:
After each prayer, respond: Lord, hear our prayer.
Offertory Song - ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.

Communion Hymn - Come to Me
When I’m scared of what comes next
When life’s not fair and there’s no hope left,
When I’m scared that I’m not quite enough,
there is love.
In the dark, there is light.
I can fall on my knees.
When I’m broken and hurting,
his love says, “Come to me.”
There’s no height and there’s no low
No place to hide where he won’t go.
When I believe every word he spoke,
there is hope.
In the dark, there is light.
I can fall on my knees.
When I’m broken and hurting,
his love says, “Come to me.”
I don’t have to worry at all
’cause he’ll be there
ev’ry time that I fall.
In the dark, there is light.
I can fall on my knees.
When I’m broken and hurting,
his love says, “Come to me.”

Recessional Hymn - Let’s Trust in Jesus
From the mountain high
To the valley low
From the things we see
To the great unknown
He is our true north
He is our way home
He is our guide
In this world that’s so wild
Let’s trust in Jesus (Let’s trust in Jesus)
Let’s trust in Jesus (Let’s trust in Jesus)
Wherever he leads us (Wherever he leads us)
Let’s trust in Jesus (Let’s trust in Jesus)
When you feel alone
And you’re powerless
When you need some hope
Just Remember this
He holds the seas
He names the stars
And he’s always with you
Wherever you are
Let’s trust in Jesus (Let’s trust in Jesus)
Let’s trust in Jesus (Let’s trust in Jesus)
Wherever he leads us (Wherever he leads us)
Let’s trust in Jesus (Let’s trust in Jesus)
Oh, Oh
(repeat 4x)
