That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.

Shall come to you, O Israel.O come, Thou Key of David, come
And open wide our heavn’ly home
Make safe the way that leads on high
And close the path to misery.

First Reading - Micah 5:1-4a
Thus says the LORD:
You, Bethlehem-Ephrathah
too small to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel; whose origin is from of old, from ancient times.
Therefore the Lord will give them up, until the time when she who is to give birth has borne, and the rest of his kindred shall return to the children of Israel.
He shall stand firm and shepherd his flock by the strength of the LORD,
in the majestic name of the LORD, his God; and they shall remain, for now his greatness shall reach to the ends of the earth; he shall be peace.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: THANKS BE TO GOD.
Responsorial Psalm -
Ps. 80
R. Lord, make us turn to you; let us see your face and we shall be saved.
Second Reading - Heb. 10:5-10
Brothers and sisters:
When Christ came into the world, he said:
“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; in holocausts and sin offerings you took no delight.
Then I said, ‘As is written of me in the scroll, behold, I come to do your will, O God.’“
First he says, “Sacrifices and offerings,
holocausts and sin offerings, you neither desired nor delighted in.”
These are offered according to the law.
Then he says: Behold, I come to do your will.”
He takes away the first to establish the second.
By this “will,” we have been consecrated
through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: THANKS BE TO GOD.
Gospel Acclamation -
Alleluia alleluia
Allelu alleluia
Alleluia alleluia
Allelu allelu alleluia
Gospel -
Luke 1:39-45
Priest or Deacon: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
Priest/Deacon: A reading from the Gospel according to Luke.
ALL: Glory to you, O Lord (while make a small sign of the Cross on the forehead, lips, and chest).
Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah
and greeted Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
“Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”
Now the people were filled with expectation, and all were asking in their hearts whether John might be the Christ.
John answered them all, saying,
“I am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I is coming. I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of his sandals.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
His winnowing fan is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
Exhorting them in many other ways, he preached good news to the people.
The Gospel of the Lord.
ALL: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Homily (please sit)
Nicene Creed (please stand)
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
General Intercessions:
After each prayer, respond: Lord, hear our prayer.
Prayer for Our Lady of Angels Parish
Heavenly Father, we thank you for gathering us together and calling us to serve as your disciples.
You have charged us through your Son, Jesus, with the great mission of evangelizing and witnessing your love to the world.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide us as we discern your will for the spiritual renewal of our parish.
Give us strength, courage, and clear vision as we use our gifts to serve you.
We entrust our parish family to the care of Mary, our mother, and ask for her intercession and guidance, as we strive to build a parish that loves God, embraces all people, and shares the Gospel joyfully.
Offertory Hymn - Magnificat
1. My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord.
My spirit sings to God, my saving God,
Who on this day above all others favored me
And raised me up, a light for all to see.
2. Through me great deeds will God make manifest,
And all the earth will come to call me blest.
Unbounded love and mercy sure will I proclaim
For all who know and praise God’s holy name.
3. God’s mighty arm, protector of the just,
Will guard the weak and raise them from the dust.
But mighty kings will swiftly fall from thrones corrupt.
The strong brought low, the lowly lifted up.
4. Soon will the poor and hungry of the earth
Be richly blest, be given greater worth.
And Israel, as once foretold to Abraham,
Will live in peace throughout the promised land.

Communion Antiphon
Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.
Communion Hymn - Turn to Me
Turn to me, O turn, and be saved,
says the Lord, for I am God;
there is no other, none beside me.
I call your name.
I am God, who comforts you;
who are you to be afraid of flesh that fades,
is made like the grass of the field,
soon to wither.Listen to me, my people;
give ear to me, my nation:
a law will go forth from me,
and my justice for a light to the people.Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
and look at the earth down below.
The heavens will vanish like smoke,
and the earth will wear out like a garment.

Communion Song 2 - Hail Mary, Gentle Woman
Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with you,
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.
Gentle woman, quiet light,
morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom, teach us love.
You were chosen by the Father,
You were chosen for the Son,
You were chosen from all women,
and for woman, shining one.
Gentle woman, quiet light,
morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom, teach us love.
Blessed are you among women,
blessed in turn all women, too.
Blessed they with peaceful spirits.
Blessed they with gentle hearts.
Gentle woman, quiet light,
morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom, teach us love.

Recessional - People, Look East
People, look East. The time is near
Of the crowning of the year.
Make your house fair as you are able,
Trim the hearth and set the table.
People, look East and sing today -
Love, the Guest, is on the way.
Furrows be glad. Though earth is bare,
One more seed is planted there.
Give up your strength the seed to nourish,
That in course the flow’r may flourish.
People, look East and sing today -
Love, the Rose, is one the way.
Birds, though you long
have ceased to build,
Guard the nest that must be filled.
Even the hour when wings are frozen
God for fledging time has chosen.
People, look East and sing today -
Love, the Bird, is on the way.
Stars, keep the watch when night is dim.
One more light the bowl shall bring,
Shining beyond the frosty weather,
Bright as sun and moon together.
People, look East and sing today -
Love, the Star is on the way.
Angels announce with shouts of mirth
Him who brings new life to earth.
Set ev’ry peak and valley humming
With the word, the Lord is coming.
People, look East and sing today -
Love, the Lord, is on the way.
