Opening Song - Holy God, We Praise Thy Name
Holy God, we praise Thy name!
Lord of all, we bow before thee!
All on earth thy scepter claim,
All in heav’n above adore thee;
Infinite thy vast domain,
Everlasting is thy reign.
Infinite thy vast domain,
Everlasting is thy reign.Hark! the loud, celestial hymn
Angel choirs above are raising;
Cherubim and Seraphim,
In unceasing chorus praising,
Fill the heav’ns with sweet accord;
“Holy, holy, holy Lord!”
Fill the heav’ns with sweet accord;
“Holy, holy, holy Lord!”Holy Father, Holy Son,
Holy Spirit, Three we name thee;
While in essence only One,
Undivided God we claim thee;
and adoring bend the knee,
while we own the mystery.
and adoring bend the knee,
while we own the mystery.
Greeting:
Priest: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
Kyrie (spoken):
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Gloria (sung)
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,
We glorify you,
We give you thanks for your great glory.
Lord God, heavenly king,
O God, Almighty Father.
Lord, Jesus Christ,
Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
You take away the sins of the world,
Receive our prayer;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
You alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father,
Amen.

First Reading -
Is. 45:1, 4-6
Thus says the LORD to his anointed, Cyrus,
whose right hand I grasp,
subduing nations before him,
and making kings run in his service,
opening doors before him
and leaving the gates unbarred:
For the sake of Jacob, my servant,
of Israel, my chosen one,
I have called you by your name,
giving you a title, though you knew me not.
I am the LORD and there is no other,
there is no God besides me.
It is I who arm you, though you know me not, so that toward the rising and the setting of the sun people may know that there is none besides me.
I am the LORD, there is no other.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm -
Ps. 96
R. Give the Lord glory and honor.
Second Reading -
I Thess. 1:1-5b
Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
grace to you and peace.
We give thanks to God always for all of you,
remembering you in our prayers,
unceasingly calling to mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope of our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father, knowing, brothers and sisters loved by God,how you were chosen.
For our gospel did not come to you in word alone, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with much conviction.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL: Thanks be to God.
Gospel Acclamation
R: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Gospel -
Mt. 22:15-21
Priest or Deacon: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with your spirit.
Priest/Deacon: A reading from the Gospel according to John.
ALL: Glory to you, O Lord (while make a small sign of the Cross on the forehead, lips, and chest).
The Pharisees went off and plotted how they might entrap Jesus in speech.
They sent their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying,
"Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.
And you are not concerned with anyone's opinion, for you do not regard a person's status.
Tell us, then, what is your opinion:
Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?"
Knowing their malice, Jesus said,
"Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?
Show me the coin that pays the census tax."
Then they handed him the Roman coin.
He said to them, "Whose image is this and whose inscription?"
They replied, "Caesar's."
At that he said to them,
"Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God."
The Gospel of the Lord.
ALL: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Homily (please sit)
Nicene Creed (please stand)
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
General Intercessions:
After each prayer, respond: Lord, hear our prayer.
Prayer for Our Lady of Angels Parish
Heavenly Father, we thank you for gathering us together and calling us to serve as your disciples.
You have charged us through your Son, Jesus, with the great mission of evangelizing and witnessing your love to the world.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide us as we discern your will for the spiritual renewal of our parish.
Give us strength, courage, and clear vision as we use our gifts to serve you.
We entrust our parish family to the care of Mary, our mother, and ask for her intercession and guidance, as we strive to build a parish that loves God, embraces all people, and shares the Gospel joyfully.

Offertory Song - The Same Love
You choose the humble
and raise them high
You choose the weak
and make them strong
You heal our brokenness inside
And give us life
The same love that set the captives free
The same love that opened eyes to see
Is calling us all by name
You are calling us all by name
The same God that spread the heavens wide
The same God that was crucified
Is calling us all by name
You are calling us all by name
2. You take the faithless one aside
And speak the words you are Mine
You call the cynic and the proud
Come to Me now
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
You're calling You're calling
You're calling us to the cross
You're calling You're calling
You're calling us to the cross

Communion Song- Surrendered
Your love has led me to surrender
To renounce my rights
and resign my fear
And trust before I know the answer
Laying down my life
at the Shepherd's feet
Come rushing like a river
through my soul
With Your streams of living water
And Your love that overflows
I find here in Your presence all I need
Here I lay my life before You
I will give You ev'rything
2. I hide myself beneath Your shadow
Here I find my rest underneath Your wings
I come with weights that I can't carry
Here I lay them down leave them at Your feet
I am surrounded when I surrender
In Your presence I know I don't have to hide
For it's Your kindness that draws me closer
To the river where my soul is satisfied

I will worship You
I will worship You
We will worship You

So I'll join with the earth
And I'll give my praise to You
